This privacy policy is issued by Subudi Pty Ltd (ABN 56 692 694 241) ("Subudi", "we", "us"). We take your privacy seriously: we collect only what we need to provide our service, we never sell your data, and we only share it with the service providers needed to run Subudi or when required by law. This policy explains what we collect, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

What Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Email address - To create and manage your account
  • Password - To secure your account (securely hashed, we never see or store your actual password)
  • Property preferences - Your housing search criteria, which may include personal information like preferred locations, budget, family situation, or lifestyle preferences

If you use our "Try me out" demo without an account, the preferences you enter are stored temporarily so we can show you results and carry them over if you sign up. They're not linked to your identity, and they're automatically deleted within 24 hours.

Information We Collect Automatically

  • Usage logs - Basic information about how you use Subudi (pages visited, features used, timestamps)
  • Error logs - Technical information when something goes wrong, to help us fix issues
  • Session cookies - To keep you logged in and protect your account

We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising tools.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide property recommendations based on your preferences
  • Send you notifications about properties that match your criteria
  • Improve our service and fix bugs
  • Communicate with you about your account or service updates
  • Comply with legal obligations

We may send you emails about:

  • Properties that match your preferences
  • Important account or service updates
  • Occasional product announcements (you can opt out of these)

How We Share Your Information

We never sell your data. We never share your information with real estate agents or third parties for marketing purposes.

We only share your information:

  • With service providers we use - Firebase (authentication/database), Google Cloud (hosting), Google Gemini (AI processing), and Mapbox (resolving place names and calculating walk/drive-time areas). These providers may store data on servers outside Australia.
  • When required by law - If compelled by a valid legal request (court order, subpoena, etc.)

When we show you property listings, you'll see publicly available information that agents have already advertised. We don't pass your details to agents. If you want to contact an agent, you'll do that directly.

Where We Store Your Data

Your data is stored using Google Cloud and Firebase services. While we prefer to keep data in Australia, some of these services may store data on overseas servers (including the United States). All data is encrypted in transit and at rest.

How Long We Keep Your Data

  • Active accounts - We keep your information as long as your account is active
  • Deleted accounts - When you delete your account, we delete your personal information from our systems. We may retain some de-identified usage data for analytics, and we'll keep records where required by law

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data - Request a copy of what information we hold about you
  • Correct your data - Update your email, preferences, or other information
  • Delete your account - Remove your account and associated data at any time by emailing us
  • Opt out of emails - Unsubscribe from property recommendations or updates (though we'll still need to send critical account notifications)

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

  • Passwords are securely hashed (we never see or store your actual password)
  • All connections use HTTPS encryption
  • Access to our systems is restricted and monitored

However, no system is 100% secure. If we experience a data breach that affects your information, we'll notify you promptly, and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) where required by law.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, email us at contact@subudi.com.au. We'll acknowledge your complaint and aim to respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through a prominent notice on our website before they take effect, and we'll update the "Last Updated" date above. If you don't agree with the updated policy, you can stop using Subudi and delete your account at any time.
